Opportunity: Director of IT and Facilities

JOB SUMMARY

As the Director of IT and Facilities, you will oversee all physical infrastructure, emergency systems, maintenance operations, and enterprise IT infrastructure across our luxury hotel property. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing overall operational programs, preventative maintenance, energy conservation, network architecture, and technology systems to protect physical and digital assets, maximize efficiency, ensure compliance, and enhance the guest experience. Working closely with executive leadership and directing both IT infrastructure and Engineering teams, you will align facility operations and technology strategies with the overall business objectives of the hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retain, recruit, train, motivate, and supervise high-performing IT and Engineering teams; empower, coach, counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, and document discipline as appropriate.
  • Oversee the design, installation, security, and preventative maintenance of all hotel physical structures, grounds, and core IT infrastructure, including enterprise network systems, physical/virtual servers, storage, databases, and telecommunications.
  • Maintain and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all physical facilities, mechanical equipment, and IT systems infrastructure in full compliance with corporate standards and local, state, and national codes.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the divisions' operating budgets, IT infrastructure investments, capital expenditure plans, forecasts, and financial objectives to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage energy conservation programs and smart facility technology solutions to minimize operational expenses while maintaining a first-class property.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers, hardware vendors, telecommunications carriers, and contractors; coordinate renovation/infrastructure bidding and oversee project quality.
  • Ensure seamless infrastructure integration, uptime, and performance optimization for critical hotel systems (e.g., property management, guest Wi-Fi/networks, point-of-sale, and revenue systems).
  • Establish service standards and processes to deliver exceptional IT infrastructure support, technical troubleshooting, and facility maintenance to hotel staff and guests.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, providing training and resources to promote technology adoption, digital security awareness.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules and assign operational duties and responsibilities to staff members.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced knowledge of IT network infrastructure, system architecture, and building management engineering.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role overseeing IT infrastructure and/or facilities management, preferably within the luxury hospitality industry.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of network topology, hardware/software infrastructure, cybersecurity, property management systems, point-of-sale, and guest service systems, alongside solid understanding of departmental expenses (labor, energy, materials, tech contracts).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex technical or mechanical data to reach logical conclusions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, provide service to guests and management, and direct cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible scheduling required; must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language; a second language is desirable.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs. regularly (and occasionally greater) for hotel equipment, IT infrastructure hardware, and machinery.
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, stand continuously, climb stairs and ladders, and maintain mobility throughout all floors and technical spaces of the hotel.
  • Occasional driving for supplies, hardware, and equipment.
